Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance Workshop
The “Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance” workshop is a two hour workshop
designed by Lennard Zinn to teach cyclists how to take care of their bikes. The
course will cover basic, daily maintenance jobs that will help make your bike
run smoother and last longer.
Lennard Zinn is a renowned cyclist, mechanic, and frame builder and is the
author of Zinn & the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance, Zinn & the Art
of Road Bike Maintenance, and Zinn’s Cycling Primer: Maintenance Tips and Skill
Building for Cyclists. Lennard has also produced the Zinn and the Art of
Mountain Bike Maintenance DVD which will be out this spring.
Course Content:
Brake Adjustment
Derailleur Adjustment
Replacing brake pads (disc and caliper).
Disc brake bleeding. (MTB only)
Rear shock air sleeve service. (MTB only)
Front shock adjustment (MTB only)
Chain maintenance, checking for wear, replacement.
Cable replacement.
Basic Wheel Truing (with and without a truing stand)
Lubes, what type; when and where to use them.

Chain elongation gauge: Rohloff or ProGold preferably
Chain tool
Cable, housing cutter
Vise
Grease
ProGold chain lube
Hydraulic brake fluid: mineral oil (Shimano) & DOT (Hayes, Avid)
Slick Honey suspension grease
Needle nose pliers
Thin screwdrivers – Standard and Phillips
