Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance Workshop Tour
Lennard Zinn is the author of several best-selling bike maintenance books, and
also the new “Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance” DVD, which is
projected to be a best-seller upon its release in April of 2006. Lennard is
starting a Colorado tour of his new bike maintenance workshop this spring and
summer, hosted by bike shops in Colorado.
The “Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance” Workshop is designed to help your
customers learn how to care for their bikes on a daily basis, and is taught by
Lennard Zinn himself. The workshop does not cover major repairs, tune-ups,
overhauls, and other jobs of this caliber. Hosting a workshop in your store is
a good way to have a fun and informative event for your existing customers in
order to show your appreciation for their business, and to further develop your
customer relations. We prefer to make these events free to the public. Hosting
a workshop will also bring in new customers who may not have shopped with you
before. As Lennard Zinn is very well known in the cycling and maintenance
worlds, the workshop is bound to attract a good number of local cyclists to
your store.
Some other benefits of hosting a “Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance”
Workshop at your store are: tool sales, book sales, and DVD sales before and
after the workshop. Customers will most likely return to buy other accessories
as well as parts and bikes, in turn building your customer base. Lennard will
also gladly sign books for those who purchase them.
Marketing:
Marketing materials will be provided by us, and will include posters,
fliers, and an email notice for you to email customers on your email list. The
tour schedule and information will also be located on
www.zinncycles.com and www.velogear.com. We
recommend having a notice on your shop’s website as well.
Cost:
There is no cost to the shop or the attendants for the workshop. We do
ask the shop to provide refreshments for the attendants. The shop must also
have a staff member on site during the workshop. We suggest having the register
going so that people can make purchases before or after the workshop.
How to Host a workshop at your store:
To host a workshop, call or email the workshop coordinator, Nick
Wigston. Since we will only do one workshop per town, we recommend reserving
your date soon.
