The rigid frame of the hardtail has no moving parts to maintain; its simplicity is also aesthetically pleasing while saving weight. A hardtail cannot lose any energy in bobbing of the rear suspension system while pedaling, and with its lower weight and efficient power transfer, it will always climb faster on dirt, sand, mud, and smooth rock than any other bike.
